Meme title aside a friend of mine just asked for help going to the gym, since he doesn't feel comfortable going alone. For context we've been friends for a couple years now, and he's on the scrawny side, but he's also one of the least politically correct people I know and has a fairly natural IDGAF attitude.

I'm ecstatic, both because this is a sign of my own progress as I'm now someone another person would ask for fitness help with and because I think my friend could benefit a lot from this. I know red knighting is a fool's gambit and a man needs to seek this out for himself but I've been asked unprompted for assistance so I think the will is there on the other side to make a change.

I have a basic framework for what to do- probably start him on Stronglifts 5x5, which is what I did, though I've heard good things about Rippletoe's Starting Strength as well. I'll almost certainly throw in Farmers Walks and Bicep curls once a week or so as well- the 'fun' aesthetic exercises should help keep him coming back in through the rougher full body exercises. I'd like to impart some advice about the importance of macros, intermittent fasting, caloric intake monitoring, etc. My biggest worry is overwhelming him and giving the guy too much to chew on.

Is there anything else I should include? What should I leave out? I've been gifted a rare opportunity to make another person's life better and I want to be the best resource possible for that.
