This phrase, "get your shit together" is ALL OVER THE PLACE in this sub. I have to ask... what exactly does this mean?

It seems to me as if it's just a blanket statement for "be organized." Although, I can also see it being a blanket statement for "get your priorities straight." But if that's the case, then I would follow up with "what are 'straight priorities'?" Which comes first, second, third...?

Here's an example: Me. I'm 25, I have a master's degree from an Ivy League university and I'm working as a professional in my field of study. I rent, pay all my bills, and use my discretionary funds to save for a house, retirement... and sometimes to go to the strip club (I'm going to reduce my strip clubbing though).

Do I have my shit together? I can think of one area in which I'm severely lacking: civilian women (as opposed to dancing or whoring women, see TUSCL.net glossary). Although I don't know if most people on this thread will include dating/fucking inside the word "shit" as it appears in the phrase "get your shit together."
