I just feel like every time I want to engage with a girl. She is completely ignoring me.

Yesterday, I was with my friends chilling, and two chicks come to us. One I knew and we talked a bit before. We say hi and it's all good. But her friend was hot and wanted to start a conversation, I never saw her before and thought it would be a good idea. When I said hi, she was still staring down at her phone and after 2-3 seconds she replies with a "whatever" tone while still staring at her phone.

Saw her again today with the same friend. We say hi and notice that the hottie was looking at me, after we make eye contact, I smile and ask her how is she doing. After that she puts her head into her phone once again, not even responding this time. After that I was chatting with her friend a little bit more and left since I had to meet with someone.

I didn't act butthurt or anything like that, but I wonder why is she ignoring me. I thought she might just be shy, but talks with other guys with no problems.

Maybe I am just ugly? I am just so hard to look at? I don't know. I wasn't even flirting, I was just trying to initiate a conversation, to have fun.
