I hopped on tinder a month ago and planned dates with two girls, both of which ghosted me before the first date.

The process of the interactions were:

  • Tinder conversation -> number

  • Text her -> set up date 3-4 days after

  • She agrees -> I naturally end the conversation and don't text her until the day before the date, unless she texts me.

  • The day before the date, I send a confirmation text asking if we're still good for tomorrow

The first girl cancelled two hours before the date and then eventually ghosted me.

The second girl ghosted me after the confirmation text.

So my questions are:

  1. I've read conflicting things about the confirmation text. Some recommend it, while others are against it. What is the consensus on confirming dates?
  2. I'm fortunate enough to have a pretty nice car so for both dates I planned a date at a moderately fancy restaurant for dessert that is a 10 minute drive from campus, in which I told them I was going to pick them up. However I realize safety is a pretty big issue for girls, so I'm wondering if just asking them to meet up at a restaurant that is walking distance from campus might be better than trying to treat them to a nicer restaurant.
  3. How important is social media? They would ask me for my social media, which I give them, but I don't have many followers/social proof on it. All I have is a progress picture of my lifting progress (skinny to lean, 6pack). I'm wondering if giving it to them is detrimental.
  4. Are girls from tinder just flakey in general, or am I doing something wrong?
