This is more a problem of your girlfriend's behavior rather than the guy. If you send an angry message to the boyfriend all that tells him is that:

What he is doing is working
It's going to cause you a rift in your relationship and cause you to break up

What I suggest is if you are serious about your girlfriend is to tell her that this kind of behaviour is disrespectful to you and you will not stand for it. Since she wants to test the waters she can go ahead and swim in them. If she decides to play by the rules, then accept her back but keep an eye on her. If not, then cut ties.
