Im pretty upfront about not being exclusive. Saves me hassle and wondering if Im gonna say the right thing. If they ask me what she asked you I just say "yes" and then remind them that I was upfront about not being exclusive, but I enjoy their company and would like to keep hanging out with them.

If they are cool with it (even after some initial no contact or drama) then it works for me. If not, well, plates won't last forever and I would rather keep my integrity by being upfront with them than stringing them along just to keep a plate spinning for a little while longer

Another response is "Yes, but I'm not going out of my way to see other women". Lets them know you do see other women, but gives them a little something to work with as far as "oh he's not a total douchebag" if she's a softer kinda gal

If you want to see her again say something like "great me and you will have a horrible time next weekend at x place"

When she asks again just say your both single, you think shes cool but you want to take things slow, and see where things go with her.

This is generally inevitable with women. The plate broke so move on. People on here are acting like you could've done something differently to stop the plate breaking; the girl wants a relationship so either you give her that or move on because it's not worth the hassle to be constantly on your toes for this shit.

You risk losing frame if you answer her question directly. Wait for 5/7 days and proceed as normal.
If she comes up with that question again, agree and amplify, use amusement and throw in a bit of comfort. "I do not kiss and tell", "I am a people person".."but you keep a special place and I love to see you".
It was a comfort test you turned into a shit test.
