I read a lot of posts about alimony/child support and I am just wondering about the differences in terms of benefits/disadvantages of being unmarried/having a child versus married/having a child.

Are you not on the hook for alimony? Do you have less rights as a father? Can you be blocked visitation?

Stuff like this... can anyone clarify this for me. I live in PA, figure this is state by state, but general clarifications are appreciated.

Fortunately this isn't me... just wondering what would happen if it was.
