Crosspost "I (22F) shared some details of my sex life with friends (26-29F) and now I'm at a loss" from /r/relationships:
So, the other day I was with some friends celebrating a birthday. I don't drink very often, but I decided to have a few glasses of wine and hang out with them. They're all more accustomed to drinking so I was more drunk than them.
We started talking about private stuff, especially our sex lives. Now, my friends are older and much more sexually experienced. None of them are in relationships right now. Meanwhile, I live with my husband (23M) and he's the only man I've ever been with. We've been together 6 years and have been sexually active for 4 of those.
I confessed to them that we had never had morning sex before, and they were so surprised by it. I felt really embarrassed, I didn't know morning sex was something everyone did! My husband's not a morning person so we only have sex at night. Similarly, a lot of them when they're in relationships have sex very often. We don't really.
They didn't make fun of me or anything but they were very surprised by what I shared. When I came home I was a bit drunk and told my husband 'we should try morning sex sometime'. He just kind of laughed, probably because I sounded really silly and was quite handsy. He helped me to bed and I slept it off.
Now, I'm wondering if I'm missing out on some key sexual experiences. Am I really missing out by never having morning sex? Am I missing out by only having sex 3-4 times a month? My friends seem to think that I am.
tl;dr I confessed some details about my sex life to my friends, and they seem to see my sex life as subpar. Do they have a point?
