You always defualt for the lay, and only if the logstics are aganist you do you settle for a number, but you need to heavily seed the fact you two are going to meet up again, even get her to say it back to you.

You gotta be primal which is be alpha in the moment and capatilize, remember thier emotions dont stay the same so she might not remember too much but some guy got her to bend over for him and he gave her a present and thats whats she remembers.

There's a strong smell of "buyer's regret" there. She felt she was overly carried away by the moment and sort of slut shames herself for it. It is meant to happen when the degree of kino (touching and fingering) didn't match the degree of comfort the woman has with the man.
Most guys here advise seeking women who will not experience (every woman will but it'll happen with more contact) or who are used to overcome the feeling. I like this approach, it seems more honest to me. Either way to avoid it you give it more time and build more comfort, change environments, this sort of stuff.
Since it already happened, you can try inviting her to a non threatening environment, one in which she feels confident there will be no escalation.
I'd send a take it or break it message like "It's a shame you're not replying me. I'm going to (sunday morning activity) hike tomorrow morning. If you care to join me, please message."

I see the point. I'm not American, so I'm just adapting to how girl are here. I thought it could have turned into a good fuck or a fuck buddy.
