Hey @asktrp I'm in highschool, 17 years old. I really love this subreddit for its honest approach to self-betterment and the advice I get from reading it.

I tend to use what I find here to help structure my relationships, be it romantic, or otherwise. As it stands, I don't really try to use elements of game, at least not conventionally -one night stands and the like. I use these philosophies to avoid fucking myself over, and getting walked on.

This is where I need your input.

After chatting up this chick for a little while, we went on one date (which went well). Her ex then proceeded to break a seven month stint of radio silence. We're in the same social group, so I've gotten to see them reconnect, to a degree.

Now, as far as SMV goes, I've got this guy crushed (in my not-so-humble opinion). I've built up a strong, masculine body over the last two years (like this girl, I started fat and am now in better shape than most). He, is on the skinny end of skinny-fat. He had a cleft pallet, and got surgery for it. I give him props for his game, regardless of an umm... unconventional face. I have better grades (as fucking stupid as grades are) and a better handle on my life. Their break up was messy: he cheated on her, and broke her trust.

What I don't have, is the immediate chemistry that comes after a long relationship with a sexual component. That's where he's got me beat.

I like this girl, she's the cute, funny type you can bring home to your parents, yet I get the feeling she's kinky as all hell. I'd like to date her, and I think we'd work really well together. We have a solid rapport, and chemistry almost as good as her and her ex, despite a long history there.

I don't want to have to fight over her though; that seems petty and childish. I sure as hell won't be anyone's doormat or third wheel.

Should I kick this one to the curb and move on, ask the ex what's going on (we're currently within that murky place between friends and aquantences), give the girl an ultimatum, explain part of why I'm the better option... Your advice is appreciated.
