I don't drink. It's not that I've never had a drink before in my life, but I'm just not a social drinker. It's more of a personal choice than anything, but I've never liked the taste of alcohol nor the feeling of losing self control. I get no pleasure from being buzzed and I've never been completely drunk before. This has been such a huge disadvantage to me in so many ways and I am just wondering what TRP's stance is on this. I don't really mind going out to bars with others when they are going to drink, but I still feel out of place ordering just a soda or something else while people around me are slowly unraveling into drunkenness. They rarely register the presence of a sober person and being among drunk people when you don't enjoy it is a huge waste of my time.

The more serious issue for me is that not drinking seems to be a turn off for women because it seems to signal that I don't know how to have fun. That may be partially true. And if it is, in today's day and age, I wonder if maybe I need to just give in and learn to drink just so that I don't have to bear the inconveniences of being a non-drinker.
