Been on a little dry run as I've been focusing on pre-college grades. Now that it's nearing the end of year(prom season all that stuff) decided to get back into dating before moving out of state.

Not trying to go oneitis over one girl, more of trying to learn the overarching strategy as this has been the situation for me a few times.

Anyways, I got switched out of a class with one girl I had my eye on, hadn't approached her, wanting to now. Only problem is I now have early release from my school so it would be someone awkward to stay after school - although there could be possible excuses.

I'm mostly wondering how I should best go about the approach as there isn't any other route I can see(friends, after school stuff, online - although online approaches are not my thing).

Would the best bet to just be walking by after school and start talking as walking out? Might be a dumb subject, but for me I am a complete noob when it comes to approaches.
