Climbing the hierarchy of a family is an odd quest.

My family is full of insane old dudes. We don’t play any hierarchy shit. You show respect to the old cunts because they shot a load in grandma a while ago and will be dead soon.

If you’re young (say under 22), you probably don’t have much to contribute. Work on yourself and respect will come.

A family is what’s known as a “hard-hierarchy.” The roles can’t be changed and all you can do is gain respect and privilege.

How to do that?:

1) Have ALL your shit covered. Any duties or responsibilities should be completed quickly with high quality.

2) Assist with the elders’ duties. If your shit is perfect, the adults can begin to trust you with helping them with their shit. Start small (pick up things from the store that the house needs), then move to bigger stuff (“hey I know you need to do xyz. I’ll take care of the small stuff, you go do [urgent task] and I’ll take care of xyz for you”).

3) If you did the above properly and consistently (2yrs+), you’ll be on some Corleone shit, working for the family and bringing honor to the name. Now you’re in a position to start inspiring (“pops I have this dream I want us to fulfill, let’s make it happen together” or “pops I know you’ve been wanting to rebuild old mustangs. No more putting it off, we’re doing it next month.”)

That’s alpha shit right there. Brings a tear to my eye.

If you noticed, the above includes doing a shit ton more work. No time for games and shit-tests from girls. Are you willing to bust your ass and do all the work your family doesn’t so you can gain respect?

Level up your character stats.

Distance yourself from said group and go on a self development journey

You have to leave your family, physically.

Do something important. Change your character to the core.

Drop all of your old behaviors.

When you return, you have to make them react to you, not be in constant reaction to them.

Period.

This is the same thing with Ex Girlfriends and "ones that got away".

Generally, after you transform - you stop caring about these stupid status games in your head. You'll no longer seek their approval like you seek it now.

Family? Why do you care? If they treat you like shit, just don't associate with them. That's an option.

If you really want to 'climb the ladder' of family, then just do what I did. Outdo them all in every facet of life. Pretty foolproof method.

I’m confused... Wtf kind of family do you live in? Are you in medieval royalty? Why is there even a hierarchy? What are you angling for to get “higher”? What does that even mean? Is it maybe all in your head, and you just feel low?
