Was invited by a friend (well call him J) to his friends (G) house for the 4th of july. I have met G once before he is a really cool guy and provided food and beer and fireworks for everyone there.

As the night went on we were all drinking a bunch of us, having a blast at one point we were outside joking with the girls/kids/adults etc. G's brother M who I never met before was there, He was drunk but me and him were joking around the whole night making everyone laugh.

At one point M's nephew I think (around 12 yrs old) was wrestling around with him on the porch. I didnt really think twice and said damn man youre getting beat up by a 12 year old (jokingly because the little kid was jumping and punching him, playfully.) I didnt think anything of it at the time but I guess it didnt have to be said, but I was drunk and literally just said it as a joke because I was joking with this dude the whole night.

As soon as I said it he SNAPPED.. Im 25 hes in his late 30s (his daughter 17 was there also) He started screaming you dont fucking know me like that, dont be saying that bull shit, fuck you you faggot Im old enough to be your dad, all this nonsense.

I just stood there and started him in his eyes with a "are you fucking serious look"

I told him It was just a joke and I didnt mean anything by it that we were joking all night. He didnt want to hear it, He kept going off his family telling him to stop, his daughter telling him to stop and starts crying.. I stand my ground and dont say much giving the situation I was ready to fight if he came at me but I was invited by a friend to his brothers house and they all were cool and liked me. So I didnt say much but let him know I didnt mean anything by it

I come to find out that he has a huge alcohol problem and always causes problems like that. G comes out from the house and Yells at M to get the fuck out, that he didnt need him causing problems.

He said "me get the fuck out? fuck you (to me) and walked away" I come around the corner a little later and hes sitting there. I walk up to him and ask him if we can talk man to man about this. I told him again I didnt mean anything by it and apologized if he took it wrong, he said its okay but started going off again, I ignored him and stuck out my hand, he stood it and continued to say some bullshit about how "I shouldnt say that type of shit" or whatever, again I ignored it and joined the rest of the party and acted like it never happened. The next day G told J to tell me he was sorry for the incident. Do you think I handled this properly, without looking like a "bitch" so to say?
