How difficult is college? Thinking about going back to school.

Not as difficult as life without college unless you’re a tradesman. Medical is the way to go, otherwise. I’m in nursing school and my tuition for a private university was 45k. A community college would probably be about 15k. Just do the work.

Its really not that difficult, I don’t know why some people say it’s very hard.

It’s easy if you plan ahead and make sure your work and studying is done at least a few days before it’s due.

When I was in college I worked out for like 2 hours a day, hung out with friends, and rushed a fraternity and still made all A s and Bs

Higher education is what you make of it.

Having the "smarts" is 15% of what it takes to succeed in University... rather it is discipline and persistency. It means long nights studying once you get beyond the introductory courses and putting your hobbies on a backburner. Like you said, it is a financial commitment and a time one as well, so unless you know for certain you want to be in the Medical field, think twice before signing up at your local community college for that Bio 101 or Chem 1010 class.

My advice is to call your local hospital and ask to shadow a Nurse or Physician so you will have a clearer idea of what you want to do. Self-employed people are more financially sufficient and live better lives, and many do, than those with an annual W2, but again, it is what you make of it. I personally couldn't work for anyone, and while it is a struggle, am enjoying every moment of becoming a successful L&H insurance agent. And I originally wanted to do Pre-med, and have a bachelors in Chemistry.

It’s really all about time management. If you can seriously push yourself to budget your time, and take care of your body that’s about 80% of the battle. The rest of it is having good study habits and hanging out with people who also study. Godspeed.
