Maybe the dumbest question I've posted on here yet, but how do i learn to be more generous?
I don't mean how to be a bitch that gives everything in return for nothing back I mean how do I learn to show back appreciation properly?
I think the best way to get people's support, loyalty, and appreciation is by giving back in a manner that shows you are selfless in proving them with something that is of their interest. When I have good people around me or have someone take time to help me out with something important for me. I do all the common expressions of gratitude (vocalize my appreciation and sincerity) but I never really cross past the point.
Before I wouldn't do it as I had little resources to my name (broke ass student) but now I wonder if it's just a lack of interest/effort or being to self absorbed to give a hand out. Should you do it with anyone even if its someone you're almost sure you'll never see again?
If anyone gets what I'm trying to get at, i'd appreciate any guidance to that path, i think it's what i need to better my interpersonal social skills with people and just be a better leader overall.
I know some of the more ignorant posters here will try to tell me that you shouldn't have to do this, it's alright to be selfish, that if your a leader people should able to see you as a leader regardless but sometimes you have to make moves when you're at the bottom.
