My post is gonna be somehow unconventional. I like TRP. I like the ideas. But I'm in "desperate" need of advice.

Little backstory. I'm a state employee in a country you never heard about. I work for the higher tier of tax office here.

I know that working for state and especially in the tax department is no popularity contest. We're hated by everyone, Everyone. I knew that when I applied and I'm okay with that... I knew I'll be hated for enforcing laws that I didn't make and be blamed instead of the government that actually makes those.

I've always strived to be unbiased, to enforce the law the same for everyone. I don't care if you owe 10k or 20m I won't prefer you cause I feel the need to try to help... I won't make it worse for you if I somehow don't like you...

My goal is to be objective and always measure the same to everyone.

But here's the thing. Normally no-one comes to my office, I never come to direct contact with people and companies I decide bout. (that actually makes it easier for me to be equal to everyone).

But today. One guy called me on my work phone. There was his company I decided bout.

Let's say he wasn't happy bout my decision (The decision wasn't bout money, just some tax process stuff). In his 13min monologue he told me that we made stuff up. That he doesn't like one tax office cause of reasons. Threatened people there with physical assault. Told me that unlike me he actually works.

And I'm sitting here now drinking beer and thinking bout what did I do wrong...

Well I didn't... And I shouldn't care. But somehow I can't. I know that this kind of situation had to happen. It was only a matter of time. But how the fuck should I deal with that?

Somehow I'm not able to just brush it off thinking it doesn't matter. And it's fucking driving me nuts.

Feeling weak... I'll need to harden myself... I know that... But I don't wanna be the one that doesn't care bout peoples situations at all... Me wants to help people who are eligible for help... (according to laws, so like no-one lol)

How would you deal with this?

Well, next week we gonna see if his threats were real... :D
