I concur with the poster saying that there is no formula or "correct" way to go about reproducing. However, since you asked, I'll give you some things that have worked for me and continue to do.

When we first see each other (i.e., initial greeting), I go in for a frontal hug around the waist.
When I release the hug, I let my hand lightly stroke her waist as I move back (but enough to let her know that I see her "that way").
If she has tattoos, jewelry near hand, long nails, etc., I grab her by the hand, pull towards me and make a comment about it ("You have such long nails").
If I have to move to the other side of her, I'll gently touch her waist.

I could go on and on, but the key thing to remember when escalating is this: She wants it and you want it. She just wants to see if you have the balls to do it. (within socially acceptable reason of course)

There are the guides but I favor you finding your own way first. Otherwise it's like trying to perfect your game when you don't even approach chicks. You'll find your own strategy, you won't be starting out with some guy's perfect game. That's perfect for him.

Anyway, my to go strategy is make out as soon as I can, talk so we get to know each other a bit, move somewhere private (car works great) put my hands wherever I feel like. If she denies I'll give some time and try again.
The only thing that deserves remarking is the when to start making out. Just chat and look for a hint, and if there is none go for it when you've talked for a bit and some silence comes up.
