At an event today, I was in a group of about 8-10 people. One of the guys there put me under the spotlight and asked me a ton of stupid questions. Although he was just another student, I couldn't tell him to fuck off or be passive aggressive because we were in a group of people, and that would reflect bad on me. He was asking me stuff like: where do you work? What's your titles? what do you do? What does that mean? Oh, can you explain that more? I don't understand what you mean? Who do you work with? And he was asking me a few questions that would get me to qualify myself to him (e.g., can you really say you know X, if you've only Y, and you only have X Experience, anyone could do that, etc).

He wasn't stupid either, I think he was just doing that as a power play --- I was the hottest and most alpha guy there. When I asked him questions, he would just deflect them and then say he didn't understand what I do. When I pretend not to listen to him, he would call out my name and ask me louder.

Besides walking away, how do you deal with a person like this. Obviously it was a power play.
