Not exactly pertinent to your question, but this has a very SJW vernacular, "cis-gender"-esque sort of ring to it. Made me laugh though. I digress..

This is a Frame 101 issue. Everyone gets stumped every now and then, blindsided by unexpected comments, occasionally finding themselves at a loss for words. The more often this happens to you, the more it gets under your skin and gnaws at you, and the longer it weighs on you, the more it is an indication of a weak frame.

Paradoxically, these sorts of situations that expose a brittle frame also help develop a strong frame. Building up a solid frame is similar to building up a chiseled physique - you don't buy a one week membership Monday morning and walk out a Greek god Sunday night. It takes time, patience, dedication, many different parts slowly coming together to form a masterpiece.

You'll read of people proclaiming meditation to be the answer you are looking for in regards to frame, that learning how to remain grounded and impervious to outside 'noise' is at the heart of frame. Someone else will chime in and say "amused mastery" is at the core of it. Someone else will add "wisdom" accumulated through years of study, observation, and life experiences to the equation.

The truth is that all of the above solidify frame in their own way. Don't get all worked up and out of breath - the older you get, the more sense this will all make.

So, back to your original question: "have you ever been in love?" I know it's rude to answer a question with a question, but I can't help myself

"Yes, three times" -- (or two), if you are younger. This should be your answer:

Demonstrates, you have feelings
Love is not that special and happens multiple times during your life, and even if you fall with her, she is just number 4, and replaceable and not some snowflake-unicorn

Think of what each answer potentially communicates: "No" - one step closer to scarcity

"Yes" - one step closer to preselection

I say yes and give no further details. Change the subject - "yea, what about you?" and "I don't dwell on the past" if she keeps asking.
