i'm just kind of curious, here in the UK due to gun control I've never got the vibe from someone that they've killed a person, except maybe one or two veterans (but i'm not stupid enough to say "hey bro you ever kill a guy or what?").

Now maybe i'm just being naive and this stuff doesn't happen all that often in the US? but surely someone might have like brother that's a police officer and shot a criminal? or a friend that killed a home intruder?

i'm not necessarily looking for stories or details just whether they went through any profound changes and how it affected them? i imagine for a lot of people it would be traumatic or maybe "business as usual" for trained soldiers, law enforcement etc...
