Been searching through this sub and haven't found anything particular to rejection rates but if I'm in the wrong here go ahead and nix this bad boy.

I want to add the normal caveats to this just to get some things out of the way. I'm not socially retarded. I can read people really well. I can maintain eye contact. I can make women laugh. I'm confident -- probably a little too confident (e.g. sometimes after a conversation I'll just outright demand a phone number rather than ask for it. Learning to not come off as overbearing if anything). I'm following rules 1 & 2, at least according to my dating profiles and my experiences with women I know well and haven't cold approached.

But I'm striking out on the cold approaches. I'd say I've approached 7-ish girls on my campus this week, got the numbers of around 5 and only had marginal success with one. Is this just too small a sample size to expect success? Should I be approaching 30 girls a week or something?

I notice a lot of women will give me their numbers in person as to be nice and just not text back. Of the ones that do text back sometimes it's just 1-2 texts before they call it quits. One girl seemed to be really into me then miraculously came down with the "flu" when she knew I was gonna ask her on a date. Just gonna take the hint there. I'm thinking my texting game is up to par because I slay on Tinder, but who knows.

Anyways what the fuck could I be doing wrong? What are ya'lls go to openers? I like to just have organic conversations with them but maybe I should be more formulaic. Coming up with something to start the conversation is the hardest part.

Really wanna blow my load in something warm soon and was looking to do it through a cold approach but who knows now.
