You could try saying "I like it when you wear this, or dress this way," or "I prefer it when you show less skin in public." If she doesn't want to dress modestly, she's either going to and be unhappy about it, or just not do it, but you can't force her to. If it's too much of a problem for you, find somebody else who's style/values suit your preferences better.

But also, you should ask yourself *why* it is that you value modest clothing on your SO. Do you fear that other men will try to take her from you if they see her body? (see:mate guarding) Do you think that attention from other males will make her more likely to cheat? (Stay in your frame and next a cheater.)

I think there is a fine balance of having boundaries vs. Being overly controlling and insecure.

Why do you feel she should obey you is the true question? Are you afraid that if she wore more revealing clothes that it will attract the attention of other men? Hence you are coming from a place of mate guarding?

OR

Are you trying to moderate her way of thinking and actions because it is what is best for her? As a slutty girl will make u look like an idiot for choosing her.

Either way, she will likely wear what she wears. Unless she embarrasses you (fat girl wearing clothes that makes her look repulsive coz it is too tight), you need not worry about other men. If her actions do not coincide with what you want and it is a huge issue next her. If she cheats, next her.

Yeah you sound insecure and/or antiquated. You also not going to take off your shirt at the beach because as a man in a relationship your body should be for her eyes, not seeking validation, otherwise you're not conservative or modest enough to merit an LTR?
