How to handle jackass friend?

Some friends you can't do business with (bad money management skills), some friends you can't go to bars and strip clubs with (religious beliefs/self-control issues), and some friends you can't go to fancy events with, but at the end of the day, they're all still your friends.

So don't act like you don't know your friend. That just shows you to be a shitty friend. You can make an excuse for him if you'd like.

Have an honest conversation with your friend about his acting out and how it looks bad on the both of you and let him know he needs to control himself. If he actually does that, cool, but if not, you need to dissociate yourself from hanging out with him in that type of environment.

Best thing to do is make friends with the people who invited him, get an invite yourself, and go without him next time if he doesn't get his act together.

Get your own ride or even just Uber. I have been around people like this in my life and you can't let them drag you down with them. If they are going to act the fool at a social event then you need to be able to distance yourself from them because it can harm your own reputation. Besides some tough love might get him to straighten up his act if he sees that his own friends aren't willing to deal with his bullshit.
