I think most guys who've been focusing on self improvement for a while have seen actual results and most of these guys probably have rarely been given compliments in the past.

So when girls smile when you pass by or when they look at your the first thought is "Are they making fun of me?" "Do they think I'm retarded or something" when they may actually be genuinely interested in you now or are checking you out.

So when they compliment you "I think you're so smart." "I like the way you..." Or some other random compliment. How do you capitalize on it beyond just saying "Thanks" which pretty much ends the conversation.
