How to take notes while reading?

Taking notes is about writing down things you believe are important during your reading or lecture. If you write down almost the whole book, by all means do it. Because by writing it down you make it easier for you to remember. Just write dude, don't worry about how much.

If you own the book, you can do several things in the pages: underline, crease the corners, highlight, circle page numbers, add asterisks on the outside ofcertain paragraphs/lines of text.

I also have a journal/notebook in which I copy certain lines together with the oage numbers for reference. Ultimately its whatever will work for you and that youll stick to

I prefer making flashcards of important sections. They have just enough space to repeat a few sentences and describe the jist of an important topic.

Bonus:

Later on you can quiz/memorize the flash cards. Do that enough and it will always be at your beck and call.

Writing something down is reported to be as effective as reading something SEVEN TIMES.* so yes, if you want to write it ALL down, do it.
