What I am asking for is more information to help me learn than anything, so I appreciate anyone who reads through this! It's a real scenario but I don't want to act on it yet (or at all) for multiple reasons.

So there is a girl (obviously that is how this must start) and she is a mutual friend of my main friend group, some of which are roommates. I didn't know her before this group knew her. But she knows the rest of the group much better, mostly through school. She is a different major in college (I am major A, most the rest the group and her is major B). Major B has lots of classes together and has to form certain groups in class and the girl is in "class groups" with the rest of the group (2 girls 3 guys).

I see her maybe once a week or 2 when we go out to the bars together with the whole group, so pretty limited intimate interaction.

She definitely flirts with me, but only when we talk 1v1 which is not a lot compared to total conversation time. Her body langauge is pretty flirtatious also. E.G. recently we went to eat as part of a group (3 guys 2 girls. Driving 2 guys were up front and i was in the back seat with the girls sitting next to a window). Both girls are pretty small and could easily sit close to each other or even separate but her knees were together and pointed towards me, touching mine. We both seemed comfortable. Through a series of events after 3 or 4 minutes however she ended up switching with other girl (I have hooked up with the other girl twice before, but it was about 3 years ago) so we were separated. At the restaurant she sat next to me and laughed at most of what I said, looked at me, general body language said she was interested but I don't read much into it.

Now the question I'm asking is how ya'll would approach this if you were trying to hook up with her. Aesthetically she is fairly attractive but not so much otherwise to me personally (I have a very specific type and I know it). So I'm not necessarily trying to progress this myself, but if I was...

I don't have her phone number. It's probably on her facebook, speaking of which: Another thing that happened during the car ride to the restaurant I mentioned earlier. I was speaking to one of the guys, girl was not a part of this at all, about something random and mentioned that I had a facebook now, the girl pulled out her phone and asked me directly if we were facebook friends and confirmed this on her phone right away before I said much of anything. I made a facebook to participate in several sports groups that used facebook as primary communication. I didn't put any information on it but just used it to talk to other people and view group information. One night I was pretty drunk and added some pictures and filled out a lot of the information and added a large amount of people I know (including the girl and she accepted) so now I "have a facebook".

So the options I see are:

  • Through facebook. Maybe she has her number here, or you could use the facebook messaging to obtain it (how?)

  • Option 2 is you could go through friends and ask for her number (displaying some interest to everyone else). Talk to her from there

  • Option 3 would be wait till the next physical interaction and find some way to ask for her number and progress 1v1
