I talk to a lot of different girls everyday. Every now and again a girl will subtly mention her boyfriend in a conversation. For example, we will be talking about skiing and she will say “I haven’t been skiing much since my boyfriend tore his acl.”

This happens maybe 20% of the time I meet a new chick. However it is never stated outrightly as in “I have a boyfriend.” It’s rather woven in subtly.

I have trouble deciphering what’s being communicated - is this a polite fuck off? Or a shit test? What’s been your experience with subtle bf mentions?
