I have ADHD. when I do ritalin, coke, etc. I don't feel like superman, I feel like a normal person who can full concentrate on everything in the way that I imagine most normal people feel.

The "superman" shit you're saying makes me think you don't actually need it. People who really have a concentration problem don't feel "high" on those stimulants - they feel peace and calm. It centers them in a way that's very different than a normal person doing the same drug.

I choose to suffer through because I don't want to dose myself with medicine every day for the rest of my life to achieve.

Have you considered just having a coffee to kick off the day?

You say it's a one time thing, but that's what we all said before it became a regular thing. Don't get into it.

I was addicted to Vyvanse for about a year. The hierarchy of enjoyability is

Ritalin < Adderall XR < Adderall < Vyvanse

The first 2 or so weeks, Vyvanse makes you feel like a god. If you've seen Limitless, that's what it feels like. After that, you feel slightly less powerful with the beginning of paranoia. 2-6 weeks in, you start to become more critical of yourself instead of blindly faithful. This led to a lot of improvements for me, including my transformation from absolute BB to RP.

6 weeks in, the paranoia is strong. You're more likely to trust strangers than people you know, because people you know could be setting you up.

After about 3 months is when shit hits the fan. Paranoia is full blown to where you don't trust anybody, meaning you don't socialize or talk like you did at <2 weeks. You're hardly eating and have probably lost 15+ pounds by this point. Sleep is an unfortunate rarity that your body needs about once every 2 days, and it's hard not to be a shut in when you're so scared of the world.

3-6 months you start to get incredibly irritable, and if it's possible for you to be a NEET, you'll be one. If you don't have very very close friends, then you'll willingly be entirely alone at this point. At this stage, I broke up with the best LTR I've ever had because of the paranoia.

As the negative symptoms progress, you'll find yourself becoming more and more Dark Triad as you stop seeing people as regular people and start seeing them as enemies who are out to get you.

Once you stop sleeping, sleep deprivation will bring an entirely new host of problems, the spookiest of which are hallucinations that include seeing people in the corners of your eyes, which when combined with your already extreme paranoia is absolutely fucking horrible.

After 6 months, the progression of negative symptoms continues but is incredibly slowed.

When you quit, withdrawal will happen, but it will not kill you. You'll sweat no matter how cold it is, (burning up with thermostat set to 60° F), you'll shake and shiver uncontrollably, again regardless of temperature. Your muscles will contract and you'll feel incredibly tense. You won't be able to sleep and will have waking nightmares. When that is all over, your mind will play tricks on you for months to come, trying to get you to dose again.

Don't do it, man.

Adderall is a highly addictive drug, believe me cause I used to be addicted to it. At first it makes you feel like king of the fuckin world, but it changes your hormones, sleep patterns, eating patterns. It will make you spend far to much time on menial shit while you think you're being productive. I also noticed overtime that it made me socially awkward and weird as opposed to the actual reason I wanted to take it in the first place. One thing I've noticed is that the people that actually need it often don't like taking it and the people who don't need it seem to fall into a terrible hard to break habit. Not to mention it's expensive as fuck without insurance.

Lift instead: same effect except it's all you and no one can take that away. You really don't want to go down that path (dependency on drugs). But you already knew that.

Around 2 months ago, I went to see a psychiatrist and I spread my guts completely to him. I was mostly demotivated, and couldn't for the life of me, pay attention to anything.

Turns out I had clinical depression for the last 8 years that was never tackled and I had Perturbation of ADHD. I've been taking anti-depressants for 2 months now, and I should start taking Ritalin and Adderall once I finish my third month.

Sometimes, people have issues of which they have to deal with. Sometimes people tell you to "man up" and suck it up and deal with it, but sometimes not even you undersand how to go about it.

Talk to a professional. Dish out that 100$ to check and see if you are perfectly fine.

If you are fine, you can tell yourself "Hey, I'm a perfectly normal guy, I can do anything I put my effort into" if not then you can finally understand "Hey turns out I've got this thing, after I take care of it, I'll be perfectly normal and can start putting effort into the things I want".

LPT: drugs is never the first option. EVER. Most doctors want you out of their hair and will prescribe drugs according to the highest general probability, and most of the time, it doesn't work. Psychiatrists don't even have to follow the standard scientific method to prescribe drugs. They are the only medical discipline that is like that, and it is fucking up the world. Far too many people will take drugs and not deal with the underlying problem. Keep taking adderall, and you WILL develop bipolar. Then you have to go and get drugs for that. Then you will develop some other fakeass mental illness that keeps you feeding the big fat profitable pharmaceutical industry.

LPT2: feeling happy does not mean you are cured. This is a HUGE misnomer.
