I've known this girl for a couple years but we've only been having sex for the last couple of months. I really enjoy our time together not just the sex, and we get along great. So sometimes we are doing things other than fucking, like just hang out and talking.

I was out with her today, and the subject came up that people come and go in your life. I told her that people always leave, no one stays forever. I mean even if it's only because they die, they are going to leave. She paused for a second and said kind of quietly that she would always be there. I seem so real i was taken back and didn't know what to say. I just said, "yeah, i know you will." And we moved on to the next subject.

I don't think that was what I should have said but I didn't let it effect the rest of the day, I put it out of my head. But I want to know what is the right response to this? It will probably come up again
