Is eugenics "self improvement"?

Nope. But i do find completely brain dead and or ugly women completely unattractive and i have no desire to breed with them. That is the extent that eugenics plays in my self improvement.

I think it's hard to deny that a society would improve biologically from selective reproduction, but it can't be done without severely violating individual rights.

I do think that physically, we're becoming weaker as a species and it will have lasting consequences we either don't see or don't want to acknowledge. More people survive now, in spite of genetic abnormalities or failure to adapt to environmental factors, whereas a century ago, they would have died and lessened the likelihood of passing on those specific traits. One could even expand it out to behavior, that morbidly obese couple everyone knows who can't stop popping out horrible children.

But that's ultimately the downfall and hatred that's tied to eugenics, it's a wave of purges based on preference and eventually they come for you...someone knocks on your door and explains how you're not longer deemed fit for society.

Until you have the ability to edit your own DNA eugenics is not self improvement.

Eugenics is a method of "societal" improvement through managed breeding, both by the suppression of "bad" genotypes and the promotion of "good" genotypes.

No, that's not what the word means. Google it and read properly.

Eugenics is either gene editing or killing offspring. That's not "self" improvement, that's an effect on an entire population.
