Yes, but only because there's better options.

Holding hands is a visual reaffirmation to other people that you are together. For the woman it provides validation and for the man it's something to do with his left or right hand. But the act of constantly holding this sweaty hand thing is tiresome and requires adjustment, not to mention it also doesn't have any kino value or sexual connotations.

An alternative is to herd. This means whenever you come across a crowd, corner, decision or stoppage, you place your hand on her and correct her path. This is better because you can touch more erogenous zones and you don't have to be tethered to another human being. (and you can randomly slap her ass)

In addition to this, be spontaneous and occasionally pull them off to the side and have your way with them. This is great if you're bored of her talking or feel like tasting whatever she just ate, but it also keeps your movements mysterious and uncontrollable, giving you more control over her.

I usually would walk ahead of my girl sometimes without even realizing. Not necessarily recommending that. As another person said, herding is likely a better balance. Holding hands is beta in my opinion. It shows weakness, like you need to show people this is your girl and you're worried someone will take her. Shit, I used to have the attitude that if you could pull my girl from me you could have her.
