Both groups share a lot of similarities, the main difference being RP guys want to slam vag and mgtow guys don't want to put forth the effort.

A lot of the posters in both groups are incels, these are the ones who try to shame the others and don't really embody some of the concepts.

Let me explain this to you. You can choose to be MGTOW. MGTOW are guys who have seen the true nature of women and decided that instead of adapting and bettering themselves they are just removing themselves from the gene pool. TRP is about making yourself a better person and not crying about how hard the world is. MGTOW is about accepting that you are too weak to adapt and willingly removing yourself from civilization.

If you want to stop being a loser then accept redpill and improve yourself. If you want a shoulder to cry on and be miserable then by all means...

Here's a thought. You should have the tools at your disposal to do what brings enhancement to your life. TRP is about sexual strategy, and having the toolset to go bang a girl that you want to bang. At the same time, you shouldn't pin your self worth on whether or not you succeed. MGTOW stresses that you should be living your life for you. You should be perfectly fine not having a girl around, but should you see one you like, you should have the tools to maximize your chances of success. Even at that, she's only around as long as she brings value to you. She doesn't want to be with you anymore? Her loss.

You are in a swift moving river and women and happiness is upstream.

A Beta floats with the stream believing it is carrying him upstream when it is doing quite the opposite.

A Red Pill realizes he is floating downstream and learns to become a great swimmer. Swims against the tide and gets to the women and happiness.

A MGTOW sees he is floating away but refuses to learn to swim so convinces himself he wanted to go downstream anyway.
