Consistency is key if you a serious. Immersion prevents you from slacking for weeks which will set you back. It is also fun and fun and progress are key motivation when learning a language. Language exchanges are great. I personally have a private tutor that I see twice a week. Make loads of friends and that language and use it, fuck English.

I made the mistake of taking a degree in the lamguage I am learning right now and it destroys the fun. I firmly believe that if you take the fun out of learning a language it becomes pointless. Go and pick up some chicks using your language and make friends, that is motivating.

Duolingo, going to classes, watching tv series or movies in that language, listening to songs, making friends online....

If you are native English speaker, I would say start with going to language school because slavic languages can sometime be У ПИЧКУ МАТЕР...

Or I believe the Poles use the word Kurwa.

Learning a new language is a difficult but mostly fun process, and you need to know it takes a lot of time and at the beginning it will be frustrating, but the important thing is to not give up. Good luck bro. Would definitely want to read a progress post.

I'm Polish. When I was learning English, the best thing I did was to watch English YouTube videos. First with subtitles, then - without. Of course, you need some theoretical basis first, but that's something you can acquire with the help of books and various courses.

If you are willing to take serious, do a immersion. Only watch TV from the language you want, change the language of your browser, smartphone , movies with subtitles and follow some pages on social media( if you have) for you make comments on the language you are studying. I started doing this as I am learning Modern Greek right now, it really improved my listening and grammar skills. I hope that will help you too. Sorry for any english mistakes, its not my mother language.
