Hey so a few months back I was on the main sub and I saw a comment that recommended a few intermediate lifting programs. I read through them all and started the Layne Norton PHAT program (http://www.simplyshredded.com/mega-feature-layne-norton-training-series-full-powerhypertrophy-routine-updated-2011.html).
Due to this program my strength has absolutely shot through the roof and I've seen great gains but I've noticed my arms (forearms especially) are falling a bit behind in comparison to the rest of my body. It's not really noticeable even really but I've seen it get a tiny bit worse over the past 3-4 weeks so I want to nip it in the bud.
For those who don't know, the program goes like this:
Monday: Upper Body Power
Tuesday: Lower Body Power
Wednesday: Rest
Thursday: Back and Shoulders Hypertrophy
Friday: Lower Body Hypertrophy
Saturday: Chest and Arms Hypertrophy
Sunday: Rest
I feel like because on each of the days I work arms (Monday and Saturday) I'm hitting them towards the end of the workout after chest and it's messing up my gains because I'm getting fatigued. The obvious answer is to mix things up and hit arms at the start of my workout when I'm not as tired but then I feel as if my chest gains will start to decrease as well.
I do plenty of bicep/tricep/forearm isolation sizes and I always make sure to challenge myself in terms of weight as well.
I like the program a lot because I've seen pretty similar gains to a few years back when I was doing a 6x a week PPL program. Having an extra free day to rest is great for my schedule as well.
I'm about to start my cut in probably 2 weeks though and I want to look proportional for the summer.
Any advice? Should I switch up programs? Is my mind deceiving me because my arms don't carry as much fat as my chest? Any good arm exercises that you'd guys recommend?
