Ask yourself what the point of lifting is for you. If it’s just to get blown up muscles that’s fine, there are a bunch of programs to make you look like a Bodybuilder.

I do starting strength because I want to be stronger. I have gotten significantly stronger, and I have also put on muscle, which is a nice bonus. But my #1 goal is strength. I don’t fucking do curls for the girls.

Google beginner weightlifting programs, pick one and stick with it. You don’t know enough to build your own effective program.

I went with StrongLifts. Uses linear progression compounds to hit all the muscle groups. Squat, deads and bench should be the focus now. You can do a bodybuilding split after you have a foundation of strength.

I’m doing madcow 5x5 now after I graduated StrongLifts. Similar program to StrongLifts with varied weights (medium/light/heavy days), so my practice and proficiencies carry over.

I’d add curls to bench day and pull-ups to deadlift day if you go with StrongLifts.

It almost doesn't matter how you start, just make sure to eat like a fat tumblr girl and get enough rest for recovery.

Later on with a good foundation you can bro-split and focus on individual muscle groups or combinations such as chest/tris, back/bis, shoulders/abs, etc. Make sure to squat, bench, OHP, and especially deadlift and do them properly.

Don't do splits until your noob gains are gone (usually around 12-18 months of lifting 3-4 days a weeks every week). It'll be more effective at first, but you'll have to do aplits eventually. Knowing nothing about you, it's hard to say when you'll need to switch.

You can then do the ole back/bi, chest/tri, shoulders/arms, and leg days.

So do full body workouts mon wed fri for three months and see where you're at.

Make sure you focus on compound lifts. You can do some isolation for lagging muscle groups.

If you need an actual routine and are willing to pay, athleanx is the man. Dude knows his shit and is ripped.
