I'm still in the swallowing phase so I am a new here. I see everyone saying 'just lift'.

I used to lift a lot - twice a day training, squat every day, oly lifts, etc. I injured by lower back during a low effort clean pull.

I switched to BJJ and for the past six months I, pretty much, train 8-10 hours a week, some times twice a day (usually Tuesdays and Thursdays).

I try to lift on top of this, but my body can barely take it. Perhaps 1 time a week. I feel like shit because I know I can put in more time for lifting. But waking up feeling like a car crash really limits the drive to wake up and walk /2 minutes/ to the gym for a 5x5.

My question is, how important is lifting, knowing that one does BJJ instead?

I am 26, 171 cm and 67 kilograms.
