It's not really a shit test, more like a demand for you to give her a compliance test. The problem is that if you give in to her demand to tell her what to do you're actually submitting to her frame even as you give her orders. (She told you to order her around so you comply).

Also, when she hamsters it later with her friends she's going to be able to say "He wouldn't let me cut it short!" and its a way to pass responsibility on to you. Finally, it's her proving you care about her and want to control her body, which she can rebel from.

Instead, don't tell her you care about her, don't tell her you presume to control her or tell her what to do. Don't comply with her demands. Simply inform her of your preferences. The response is good because it doesn't submit to her frame, but tells her what your preferences are and invites her to qualify herself to you. It also subtly implies ubundance because it implies that if she doesn't do what you prefer then you'll find someone else who is sexier.
