This has happened to me a few times. It usually meant they were sleeping with someone else. Girls find it very hard to be submissive to two people at once. And now the gaslighting begins. 'You don't trust/love me', 'You didn't treat me properly' and things like this will become more common. She's hamstering her behaviour as your fault to justify her cheating. She could just be going through a bad time, or maybe she just met a new guy and has not slept with him yet. Either way start preparing yourself for a breakup as in my cases it meant a branch swing was in progress so that when she comes clean, you've already moved on, at least mentally.

Also, this is a perfect time to start plate management. Silently demote her to plate status, and very subtly start pulling back yourself.

It could be something else, so pry a little to find out what it is, and don't let her guilt trip you when you catch her in a lie. Having boundaries means you don't let people lie to and manipulate you.

Demote to plate unless it was something very minor. Lying shows her character and will only get worse. When they get TOO dramatic, time to NEXT!

What kind of lie was it? I get the feeling it wasn't something minor.

In that case, demote to FWB and game other women. Dial down your attention to her in the meantime.
