I see a few comments saying it’s not a big deal and it’s playful banter, and that sounds like a load of shit to me to be honest.

I’ve never seen a girl who genuinely loves a man that she insults publicly; maybe one soft joke every blue moon, but you’re saying it’s a habit.

I think it’s not that her behavior changes in public, but rather her behavior is actually changing when she’s alone with you. She actually seems like she’s desperate for attention so when it’s just you two, she pleases you to gain attention. When there’s a group (or in her mind: an audience), she tears you down to put on a show and seem superior.

You can try to “gain frame” but I personally would work on myself so I figure out why I ended up in the situation and go find another girl who’s not an asshole.

There’s tons of girls out there waiting to find a RP man, do what’s best for you.

This is pretty common. Some of it can be playful banter but deep down she's testing you in front of her friends to let them know you're a fit Male. Also everyone acts harder in front of friends then they do alone or with an SO. Men and women do this.

That sucks. My gf acts the exact same in front of her friends as she does when we’re together. She almost kind of shuts them out like it’s just us.

Not enough detail IMO to really offer any opinion. How is she acting? What is she doing? How old are you two? How long you been dating? A lot of insecure women will try to 'one up' me when I am dominating the room. If I have everyone's attention and it's her friends, I've seen em lose their shit. Just need more information to compare.
