Had some strange behaviour recently from my LTR of eight months.

A bit of background: Both mid-thirties, but she's been in a couple of very long relationships only, whereas I've been in a lot more, and have more sexual experience.

Anyway, it's been a very hot relationship, and yes, she could just be telling me what she thinks I want to hear - but she claims that I'm the best she's had and that I've 'awoken something in her' etc. I've talked before about threesomes I've had - both MFF and MMF, but never pushed or even suggested I'd want to explore that with her. She's never had a threesome and always said that she'd not be up for it because she'd be jealous and didn't want to share me.

Anyway, randomly one night recently she starts talking about how she's been thinking of having a threesome with me and another girl. Although she wouldn't want me to do anything with the other girl. She even has girls in mind and starts asking whether she should ask them etc.

Now, due to her previous opinions on the subject I immediately sensed a trap. Plus, she's nuts, and I personally can't see the fun being worth the fallout. So I calmly told her to think about it a bit, and that if that's really what she wanted, I would do it for her provided it didn't jeapordize our relationship due to jealousy afterwards etc. I also shot down a MMF just in case this was a sly way of her trying to get railed by two dudes, saying I don't share my women, even though I'd done it in the past it was with a stranger rather than a girlfriend.

Well, after a few days of talk about the subject. Always excitedly initiated by her, she suddenly drops the subject, never to be heard of again for weeks until tonight. We were watching TV and the topic came up, so I reminded her about her idea. She casually mentioned that she'd changed her mind and was conscious of her body and would be scared that I'd fancy the other girl. Fair enough, I didn't pursue it. End of story.

So my questions are: did I handle it right? What would you have done? Was this all exactly as it seems or was she up to something? Could it have been a comfort test of sorts to test my commitment?
