My LTR of 1.5 years's dog just died from getting hit by a car. She's devastated and I've been comforting her since.
At what point am I becoming a beta provider and how far can I go? I'm being there for her and being her rock while she's crying on my lap. Do I need to try and make her feel better or let her get over this on her own?
I've never dealt with a death before so I'm winging it. I've just been letting her vent and cry and be emotional and I'm just agreeing with everything. If I get her something to feel better, am I falling too deep into provider territory or is this an exception because of such a traumatic experience?
Any advice would be appreciated, never been in this situation before.
