As best I can find on Google, the average height and weight of American males is 5'9" and 195lbs (in metric that's 175cm and 88kg)

Suppose we have a pair of twin brothers. They both quickly gain/lose 40 lbs. One gains 40 lbs and goes to 135 lbs, while the other loses 40 lbs and goes to 155 lbs.

Which is more attractive to women? I would contend that the fatter one is more attractive because women were designed by evolution to go toward the men who could offer them the most protection against threats. The fatter brother has more body mass (even though it may be a lot of bodyfat) whereas the skinny one has much, much, less.

The fatter brother offers women the perception of greater protection and is thus more attractive. Am I right or wrong?
