Hello all.
This is not related to women so much, this is more a personal question where I need the no bullshit wisdom from RP men.
I'm starting university in September and I am unsure if I should move out.
I already live in the city I will be studying, the cheapest student accommodation the university offers is £3,500 a year, all bills and internet paid for. I would only be responsible for my own food and laundry. From the student loan service, I am eligible for a £1,750 bursary and a maximum of £5,000 a year. I live in Scotland, so no university tuition fees, and the rate of interest on these students loans are very low.
I am going to study Biomedical Engineering, so I will be making decent money and be able to start paying off accumulated debt soon.
I want to move out as my relationship with my mother simply does not function. I have posted this before, and after visiting r/raisedbynarcissists, I have come to the conclusion she is a narcissistic parent. I still love her, but she hasade the last few years hell.
I train in BJJ, and I asked the guys at the gym about this situation. Those under the age of 30 are saying get out, as uni is the best time of your life, and I cannot afford to let my mum ruin first year especially. Those over the age of 30 say stay at home as it is financial suicide to take on that much debt.
I also feel guilty about leaving my mum, as she has nobody in this country and has had a very shit and difficult life, so I feel as though I am abandoning her. She will probably return to our family in the Middle East, but I fear she will hate me forever and paint me to be an evil human being.
What do I do? Can I be given some helpful insight? Much appreciated.
