Hey guys,

I am about to turn 29 years old. I have a BS in Geology and Meteorology. I have worked 4 years in the oil field and have made decent money. However, I really hate the job. Not the job itself, the lifestyle it leaves me in.

I work 2 weeks on, 1 week off. This has made having a social life near impossible (except for the country bars I go to and the college gym I visit after work). I work on an oil rig. 12 hour shifts every single day.

I just dont really desire anything in the sciences now. I am more of a people person plus anything in Geology now days requires a masters degree which I honestly dont wish to pursue.

I am open to any career suggestions as I have no clue what to do with my life now. Swallowing the red pill completely ruined my outlook on married life (I am single). I no longer wish to get married so now it looks like I have another 50 years to do whatever I want LOL. Freedom is scary to a person who has no clue what they want.

I am open to going back to school for a different degree or certification btw.

Heres a list of things I would like in a job or career:

Good pay (at least 50k a year) Good benefits and 401k/IRA Home every night or most nights of the week (I want to own a dog and have a social life) Travel (love to travel!) Low stress/Work at my own pace/manageable deadlines or projects Team environment (love working with people) PATH OF PROGRESSION (this is the biggest I think, I feel so stuck at my current job because there is literally no where for me to move up) Physical movement (not really inclined to sit behind a desk all day every day)

Thanks guys, I know a lot of TRP members have rewarding careers that really bring in the $$$. Just trying to get this part of my life taken care of as I am no longer worried about the "BP dream".

Edit** I must also say that I am 1200 miles away from my family and friends by having this job. I would like to move back to NC where they are or at least be within driving distance of them.
