Hello, I need some insight with this chick I am talking to in one of my classes. Like the title says, I have zero experience with women (by zero I mean ZERO).

Intermittently throughout the semester so far I have made light casual conversation with her as we sit right next to each other in class. Prior to a test last week I ran into her on campus and asked how her studying was going. The conversation was light and playful (at least I think so). She said she was going to stare at her notes for the next two hours, I replied back in a joking manner "have fun with that." We both laughed and went our separate ways until meeting again in class that day where I asked how her studying went, again I made some playful comments about it and we had a pretty light conversation.

Fast forward to this week. I see her looking at notes for a class I'm in as well (different time). I ask her how she likes the class etc etc. She then tells me her story about how the professor singled her out in class and "picked on" her. She hands me her phone to read her extremely long facebook post about it, as I see the wall of text (and it was a wall of text) I say "boy, I had no idea you wrote novels!" I skimmed it and told her (in a playful, joking tone) how awful class must be for her etc etc. She laughs and then class starts.

Tomorrow I plan on asking if she again was singled out in this class and will make jokes about this.

QUESTIONS:

  • Was I flirting with the "boy, I had no idea you wrote novels" comment? I have a slight tinge of aspergers so things like flirting fly right over my head.

  • I have glanced a few times at her phone while she was using it, noticed the phone wallpaper is with her and some other guy in a kissing posture. 99.9% sure this is a boyfriend. I'm going to be realistic with my ability and say outright I do not have the means to get her to branch swing to me or engage in any cheating.

  • What else can I get out of my interactions with her?

  • On the looks scale I would say she is average, she's a real girl-next-door type.

Thanks. I apologize if this all sounds pathetic and dumb.
