1) Don't give a fuck about and don't be made uncomfortable by silences and the problem disappears.

2) Don't fill the gaps, that's the woman's job.

3) Have no standards for conversation. You can talk about literally ANYTHING, as long as you're cool, indifferent, and confident about it.

4) create something to do, especially if you like the girl. LEAD her into something. Is nothing happening? Escalate on her non-suspecting ass. Just make sure the existing relationship allows for such a thing and the setting is appropriate for what you want to do. If neither of these things are in check, then there's your thing to do.

many women expect to be entertained by men (hence their absorption with a man's money, status and power), rather than attending to a man's character. and I don't think it's necessarily a gender issue in our society; people's absorption with their devices is an epidemic. they default to cyber relate rather than actually relate. find a woman who can hang w you at your pace.

Build hobbies and interests to talk about. Also, what you are describing goes hand in hand with (social) anxiety. If you have no social anxiety and you have cool ideas in your head, but still can't talk to a specific girl then it might just be her.
