You can't vet a girl for LTR without comparing her to other women you are actively considering LTR status with.
All of my best LTRs started out as plates. All of the plates I thought would be the best LTRs failed me in some way and were let go of.
Are you a fat lazy video gamer fuck?

You're totally right.
I'm a shy, in shape, ok looking law student. Haha. Hand I was dealt isn't bad, I just have a shell of [false]modesty and shyness that I need to break.

Kick down the shyness door. Do whatever it takes. Go join a community theater group and your shyness goes away in 3 months of stage acting.

Read my post on the main sub called "How to Date Correctly."

OK thank you.

Why dont you like spinning plates? How do you know what type of woman you like for an LTR without dating a few. You want a biblical example of finding an LTR - go read Esther. Now go spin plates. You dont have to have sex with them.
[–]Texas_Rangers0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
You're right, you're right. I have a image of spinning plates that may be unfair. I just need to think of it as the abundance principle.
When I think of "spinning plates" I think of a strategy that's fun, but reckless...plates held up by lies, which are bound to come crashing down. But I don't think that's quite fair because you can try to engage in LTRs with multiple women without being "unfaithful" and lying to each per se.

Its called dating outside of PUA/TRP

I'm looking into buying a car, but I'll only leave my comfy chair to look at the ONE car I'll buy. I'm totally cool researching from my PC, though. Do you have any hints for me? There are maybe a few hundred cars available in my country, an experienced mechanic could talk to me and narrow it down to a dozen, BUT he can't guarantee my satisfaction. I have personal preferences and issues. Used Suzuki Jimnys are a great deal here, but I'm too big for their chairs.
The way you put it, your best strategy has nothing to do with women or RP. Rather, it is about social contracts.
This isn't a joke. There's a widespread understanding that each couple finds its own way. You should date many women and spin plates to understand yourself better, calibrate your expectations, and maybe then getting into a LTR. There isn't a "standard" commitment contract anymore and if there is one, it's totally cool for women to deviate as much as they like from it these days. You need that contract, and those women. Your best bet is getting into a LTR knowing HOW it'll be beforehand, and only crazy religious groups still work like that.

I appreciate that sir. Trying to get it in my mind that I still need to go for "abundance," even if I'm only focusing on one at a time. That "I'm the prize, not her."
I think your advice is good. The one I'm currently trying with is big into church, but sometimes I have a hard time consolidating "RP theory" and Christianity. She seems good, but there's prettier girls out there and I'm not gonna let myself become beta attached to her.
Your post is very helpful though, a strategy I will pocket.

but sometimes I have a hard time consolidating "RP theory" and Christianity.
That's because, when it comes to "relationship contracts", Christians' is as arbitrary as it gets. It's focused around having a nuclear family in which the religion can thrive. "RP" theory is largely derived from our most primal drives and dating strategies are built to thrive on these natural behaviors. It hits pretty far from "nuclear family".
[–]Texas_Rangers0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Exactly! That's my inner struggle, and like I said, tough to consolidate. I'm not the most moral person, but I am a Christian and care about family. But like others are saying, I think I can still spin plates as a Christian. Just modified a bit.
[–]quicklogaccount0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Most of my country was raised on a catholic background and morals but is fucking around pretty freely, since the 70s or so. The mindset is pretty standard. There's an understanding that people have a "stage" to fuck around, roughly 15 to mid 20s, and then a "stage" to settle down after it. Religiously speaking, people's understanding is that you'll be forgiven for fucking around just as long as you eventually settle and form a nuclear Christian family.
These used to be some opposition to people doing what I'm doing (mainly against men), which is fucking around in their late 20s and 30s. Strong shaming, it's labeled "being a late adolescent".
Sometimes I still hear of it but I've been getting absolutely none. I guess as long as you have your material life together shamers sort of fail to find a moral high ground to pester you. Or maybe I get a mulligan for having had an LTR already. Go figure.

No. Refusing to play the game doesn't exclude you from the game. Its like going into a car dealership and paying sticker price because you have no interest in haggling.
Duly noted. Thank you.

nothing wrong with that man. but its not much different. you just dont go FULL rambo with TRP. a lot of the RP philosophy is for dating/hooking up. When it goes to LTR, you still need to be a man, an alpha, a rock, but you DO need to sprinkle in some beta/comfort to meet a woman's needs. (in LTRs things often go from less shit tests, to more comfort tests - go read the differences) Women are emotionally based. if they dont feel your comfort, they won't feel fully connected, they don't feel safe, so they will go look elsewhere to fill that void.
my advice. go read a book called 3% man. it will help you understand whats needed to keep the LTR happy, while still having a spine and being a man in your relationship.
I just wrote down that book, I will check it out. This comment best describes my thoughts and goals. In the beginning phases of getting back into a LTR (I've been out of the game for a bit), I want to do my best to plant good seeds that will lead to the best LTR down the road.
[–]SkimSTi 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
yep, i know man. not surprised im getting downvoted in this sub. but hey, its the truth. the whole point of RP is to take the philosophies that best apply to you to make you a better person. not everything that people preach in here work for every man. there's a good basis of stuff, but i think a lot of people fail to realize you can still have a very RP mentality while maintaining a healthy relationship by sprinkling in SOME BP to keep your womens comfort tests in check. just my .02cents. take what you will from it.
Much appreciated. Abstinence and RP don't mesh perfectly but I agree that there's a lot to take from RP. And biblical abstinence doesn't mean there's no physical contact before marriage so some overlap there.
[–]SkimSTi 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
also to add to my post. while the RP theories work extremely well to gain the attraction during the beginning stages of dating, etc. they will only take you so far to actually maintain a solid relationship. (for most women - once they fall in love with you).
think of it like this:
RP DATING = alpha/alpha/alpha
RP LTR = alpha/alpha/beta
BP = beta/beta/beta
so there is still much to apply from the RP logic, but like i said, to maintain a solid LTR, you need to sprinkle in some comfort. those in here that downvote this or disagree, most likely, don't like to keep women around very long and aren't into LTRs.
that being said, i also recommend expanding your horizons a bit and browse around in askMRP (married red pill). i learned quite a bit there which has helped me in my current relationship. recommended reading for anything long term/more serious than just dating/plating/FWB... as it offers more monogamous/LTR advice.
i appreciate that. I'm not trying to say I'm superior because I don't "fuck around" with multiple chicks, but I much prefer monogamy and I think the advice im looking for may also be on TRP married so thnaks
