I did a cycle of it.

The only differences I noticed was that I wanted to fuck all the time, woke up with massive erections, my balls shrunk, and I got some pretty good pumps after the gym.

If you haven't lifted for 5 years as a natural first and reached your maximum genetic potential, I would say you are just going to play with fire if you take steroids.

mentally, they made me more emotionally detached (high androgens cause this)

I believe it all depends on what your goals are. If you’re not putting in the right effort to get results and think steroids are going to do something for you, then you are mistaken. If you exercise right, eat right, sleep right, and still aren’t where you want to be then it’s an option I suppose. I wouldn’t use them if you’re younger than 30. It also depends on where you are right now too, are you in good shape but trying to be a body builder? Are you really scrawny and trying to get some bulk? Are you trying to get a competitive edge in something? In my opinion there’s no point in them when you are young (unless you’re extremely small), but if you use them in a healthy dosage they can radically change you’re life later on. For example look at Joe Rogan, he’s 50 and is still a beast and he’s on them. Also you have to weigh the side effects from them, roid rage, acne, etc. A 25 year old who is just trying to get to the next level - not worth it. A 50 year old who uses them correctly and is in as good as health as they were in their 20’s - worth it.

The prohormone halo is pretty benign and pretty good. Tren is amazing, but comes with challenges. Sounds like epistane should work but i just dont know anyone who's had success. My buddies who have used deca, anadrol, dianabol, cyp, all got this unnatural looking thickness in their midsection. Also got much stronger than anyone i've seen using prohormones. Most lost it because of slacking off and obviously suppression if they didnt use hcg or clomid. I knew a guy on equipoise and he looked like a naturally strong very gifted athlete. No idea where he got it. He kept his gains (w/o pct) but not the muscle fullness and cut. Mental: these hormones magnify who you are. So if you're an asshole naturally, you're a big asshole juiced. You'll be affecteded by estrogen afterwards. Mood swings and sadness sometimes. Some go a tiny bit insane if they're pre disposed to mental illness. So after 30 years of gymming, it seems the trt guys are happy, the steroid guys give up on it after a few years, and the prohormone guys keep at it and are still positive about them. The few guys i knew who tried clenbuterol looked like fucking freak shows overnight (creepy how fast they got big and ripped) but they all gave up on it. The zombie thing was too hard to cope with.

Read Anabolics by William Llewellyn. Best book I've ever read on the subject and should give you lots of helpful info. Sides are there, but if you just run a test cycle I think you should be okay.

First, you need to get yourself to /r/steroids. Read, read, read the sidebar. Then, if you still have questions (and you will), take them to the daily "ask anything" threads.

I blast and cruise, which means I have periods of time where I just take replacement levels of testosterone (cruise), with occasional periods of taking high doses of testosterone and other anabolics (blast). Or rather, I will blast and cruise. Thus far, I have just been cruising on TRT-level doses and will blast when the time is right for me. So, it is the life I have chosen for myself. It is not for everyone or even for most people. But yes, for me it has been "worth it".

Regarding mental changes, I didn't have a big reaction to it. Guys who are basement-level testosterone levels will get on TRT and report night-and-day changes in their attitude, depression, et cetera. I had below average levels when I got on test, but nothing horrible (415 total). That said, I do feel a bit sharper and more confident. People say that testosterone amplifies the personality you already have, and that has been my experience.

But most of the changes that come from gear will be physical rather than mental. That means getting blood work done every few months and monitoring for side effects very carefully. You need to understand about AIs, hemocrit, and so on.
