The "problem":

We have all seen this thing which, at least at the first glance, defies TRP logic regarding the SMV (and possibly other elements) - a very good-looking girl falling head over heels for some goofy fucking lubber.

Two personal experiences:

  • A girl having a LTR with a few years older, really fat and unpleasant neckbeard. His communication with her is BP - all the advices a woman would give you about game and dating: long conversations about relevant and irrelevant subjects, showing lots of emotions, treating her as a unicorn etc. His communication towards other people is probably something comparable to what /r/atheism was and is laughed at (I-have-a-superior-intellect-and-interests-everything-else-is-shit). If he says something, she repeats it. If he mocks some fitness guy whose picture he saw on Facebook or 9gag, she joins him wholeheartedly, adding in thing like: "I would rather have 550 lb guy than THAT" (and the picture only shows some ottermode). In every aspect it's like she lacks even basic personal opinions. And she just loves him.

  • I went to high school with a guy who, at the time, was a total omega: really, really ugly guy with no sense of proper dressing, tall and skinnyfat, with long and, not so rarely, greasy hair (he was a metalhead), pimples, mostly cringeworthy behavior, the whole nine yards. Also, he wasn't even remotely smart. Nearing the end of high school he started reading manga and became a "writer", which means that he was writing "dark" stories about romances and sex on tumblr or some other site. Probably some gothic-emo-Twilightish bullshit. All the time he was going out to a rock and/or metal bar usually filled with teenagers and adolescent beta males. Fast forward a few years later, he becomes the ultimate desire for alternative teenage girls and gets himself a younger, solid girl and they have been in a relationship for at least two years now.

The questions:

1) How did they get good-looking girlfriends while themselves looking abominable and (second guy) having no SMV and game whatsoever? 2) More importantly, how did they manage to have LTR with those girls?

Possible answers:

1) Hooking up was successful mainly due to: 1) their subcultures, 2) girls being younger than them and young in general. If somebody is a slave to their subculture to the point that they won't date outside of it, they have to make do with what they have available, I guess. And if they are young, they are easier to deceive. 2) They managed LTR because of those same two reasons: being trapped in a subculture and brainwashed to believe that not only their significant others are the best they can get, but also the best there is on the market

The holes in those answers:

If what I guess is true, how is it possible for those girls to stay so blind and dumb for so long? Or, even better, how does their biology and psychology not start to resent such ugly betas? Both of those guys have risen in their cliques, so you can say they have a high social rank, but they can't possibly be so blind and their hamsters running in warp 9 that they can't acknowledge better options IRL and role-models of better options in the movies, TV series, online etc. Or could they?
